The Black Horse oil find (Block 15/22) was discovered in November 2005. We have a 40% interest in the field and the remaining 60% belongs to another major Canadian company.

The well encountered 75 feet of Dirk sand, and over 145 feet of net Galley Sand. Upon drill-stem testing the Upper Jurassic Dirk turbidite sands, the well flowed oil at a maximum rate of 5,248 bbl/d. This flow was through a 34/64” choke, with a flowing wellhead pressure of 1,446 psi from 80 feet of perforations.

We plan to return to Black Horse in 2008 to drill an additional well which will be completed as a producer.  Oilexco will pay 60% of the costs for this well to earn a 50% working interest in Black Horse.
